Trills & Thrills is a music festival that provides selected seventh and eighth grade students with an opportunity to perform and receive feedback from a panel of professional music adjudicators. Each ensemble will be given a rating and a critique of their performances. Participation in the festival will included a half day visit to Six Flags Great Adventure as a reward for students for years of hard work and training in music education.

- 8:00- Students drop off breakfast items and large instruments in the cafeteria to be transported, students report to homeroom
- 8:10- Teachers and parent chaperone meeting will be held in the cafeteria, parents load instruments into cars, teachers prepare breakfast
- 8:30- Student bagel breakfast, roll call, review of the day’s plan
- 9:00- Student picture outside school
- 9:15- Load buses/Take attendance before departing, Buses depart Markham Place for Manchester Twp High School. There will be no eating allowed on the bus and no nut products allowed on the trip as many students have severe food allergies. Parents drop off instruments at Manchester Twp HS on the sidewalks
- 10:15- Students arrive at Manchester HS. Instruments can be unloaded on the sidewalk. Buses park at the fence by the softball field. Students pick up instruments, enter school, and wait for instructions to enter the auditorium where we will listen to other school performances.
- 10:40-11:00- Orchestra goes to warm up room, other students listen and support in auditorium
- 11:00-11:20- Orchestra Performs, Band goes to warm up room
- 11:20-11:40- Band Performs, Chorus goes to warm up room
- 11:40-12:00- Chorus Performs, students support and listen
- 12:00 - 12:20 Students watch other schools, meet judges, parents reload instruments into cars
- 12:30 - Attendance and depart Manchester HS for Six Flags!
- 1:00– Arrive at Six Flags - bring water, bagged lunch, money for food, season pass (if needed) and anything else they need for park. Safely walk to main gate, and students can take a few minutes to eat bagged lunch before going into the park. Students will receive tickets right before walking into the main gate. DO NOT FORGET TO EAT LUNCH and DRINK WATER. Everything must come off the bus! Parents take instruments.
- 1:15- Visit the Water Fountain Meeting Area – Upon entering the park, each chaperone will take their group to the large water fountain. This will be our meeting/check in location throughout the course of the day, and it will also be our meeting area at the end of the day. If a student needs a break, or should become separated from group, Ms. Brush, Mrs. Bennett, or Mr. Platt will be available at the water fountain throughout the entire day.
- 1:15 - 5:45- Enjoy the park! Students must stay with their assigned group at all times! Multiple groups can travel around the park together. If a student needs to take a break, Mrs. Bennett and Ms. Brush will be sitting at the water fountain for this purpose.
- 5:45- Meet at the water fountain, attendance, group picture, walk to bus
- 6:00- Attendance on bus, depart Six Flags, code red message sent out
- 6:45- Pick up child, please sign child out with assigned teacher before leaving
